The plot of Grand Theft Auto IV develops through missions that Niko performs for certain residents of Liberty City. Although missions from any one mission-giver occur in order, players usually have the option of choosing whom to work for. As a result, missions won't occur in the same order for every player as they are listed here. In fact, many of the missions later in the game can be played even outside of their "chapters." The order appears to be rigidly set for each specific person, though you can handle different mission-givers simultaneously. Take Frank's and Packie's missions for example. You can go through many of Packie's missions, then many of Frank's before handling, say, the Paper Company missions.

Missions in GTA 4 tend to follow a general pattern. Niko with either receive a phone call from or go to someone who gives him a mission. Niko will then have to drive to a location and perform a specified action, be it driving, fighting, delivering, or something else. Afterward, he'll receive a phone call telling him that he has successfully completed the mission, as well as reap any reward tied to that mission.

Chapter 1
The Cousins Bellic
Reward: $25
The opening scene of the game starts on a ship.

When you gain control of Niko, you'll be asked to drive to your cousin Roman's apartment. Use the minimap in the lower left hand corner to navigate there. You'll pass Roman's cab company, where you'll be going later.

After you arrive and watch a cut scene, you can save your game at the bed or watch the television in the apartment. When you're ready to leave, you can make your way to Roman's cab company as indicated on your minimap. Exit the apartment and turn left. After three blocks, turn left. You should see a large arrow floating above the sidewalk. Walk up to this arrow to begin your first "official" mission.

If you want to explore around a bit, you can check out the city before heading to the cab company. There are plenty of cars available for you to steal if you want to drive around Broker and Dukes. The other islands are blocked off at this point in the game, so don't try to run any of the barricades on the bridges (you can, but you'll get a six-star Wanted Level).

If you just can't wait to get your hands on a weapon, there are some hidden weapons near your safehouse. There is a baseball bat in the empty lot across the street from your safehouse; it's behind the hot dog vendor at the back of the lot near the building. If a pistol is what you're after, head south from your safehouse to the old carnival; you'll see a go-kart track, and a large mural on the building next to it. The gun is on the ground next to the track, just below the "s" where the mural reads "Go-Karts." There's another pistol on the walkway in the center of the Broker Bridge; if you already grabbed a pistol, this one will give you more ammo for it.

It's Your Call

When you reach the hardware store, park facing this direction for an easier getaway.Reward: $30
The first part of this mission involves driving to the hardware store. Enter the car by pressing Y. Use the map to navigate to store. When you get there, park facing downhill, it will make your exit easier later. Roman will exit the car and tell you to act as a lookout. Wait for a few moments for Roman to call you. When you're done with this call, wait a few more moments and the car you're waiting for will show up. You will then have to call Roman. Press up on the D-pad to bring up the phone, then call Roman. He'll come running out of the store and jump into the car. You must then drive back to Roman's cab company. As you're driving, you have to lose the loan sharks chasing you.

Completion of this mission unlocks the Random Character, Brian.

Three's A Crowd
Roman
When you get back to the shop, you'll have a minute or so to drive around or do whatever you like. You'll then get a call from Roman asking you to go back to the cab company. When you get there you'll see two loan sharks hassling him. You'll see a scene where Niko defends Roman, but you won't control any combat.

You'll then be asked to pick up Mallory and her friend Michelle at the subway station and drive them to Michelle's apartment.

You're next mission is to buy some clothes. Once again, follow the indicator on the map and you'll end up at a clothing store. Buy whatever clothes you like, but remember that you have a limited amount of money. When you leave the shop you'll get a call from Michelle asking you out, and to meet her at her apartment. You'll also get a call from Roman asking for help. Michelle can wait, so head over to Roman's marker.

Steal Dardan's knife by dodging with the A button and following it up with the B or Y button.Bleed Out
Roman
Reward: $50
You'll find Roman getting beat up on a basketball court. You'll then have to fight both the men attacking Roman. Once you've taken them down, you'll need to run over to Roman's car and chase one more guy, Dardan. He likes to drive through alleys and make tight corners, so be sure to take the turns slowly. You don't have to follow him too closely, but don't let him get too far away or you'll fail the mission. The car will stop in front of a warehouse. Hop out and climb the stairs to the office at the top of the warehouse; Dardan is inside. You'll have to hit the A button to dodge him, hit B or Y to disarm him, then use his own knife against him.

Head back to the car and drive Roman back to the cab office. Just before you get there you'll receive a text message from Michelle, which makes the "First Date" mission available to you, if you want it.

Completion of this mission establishes Roman as a Friend character

First Date

Bowling may seem inconsequential, but it actually boosts Michelle's opinion rating of Niko by 60 points.Michelle
This is a pretty simple mission. First off, head over to Michelle's apartment. After you talk to her for a while, you'll end up in her car. Drive over to the carnival, but don't wreck her vehicle! When you get to the carnival, you'll see that it's closed. Walk up the stairs and take a left to go to the bowling alley instead. Enter and walk up to the counter to find that the first game is free. You can now play a half game of bowling against Michelle. When you're done, leave the bowling alley and head back to Michelle's car. Drive her back home, and you'll complete the mission successfully. Don't attack anyone else while on the date (including Michelle!), or you'll fail!

When you're done with this mission, you'll unlock the social side the game. Your friends (including Michelle) will call you and ask you out to eat and to other various social activities. You can also call them up and ask them out. After the call, you'll have an hour to pick them up. Michelle pretty much likes all activities except the strip club, so never bring her there! In particular, she loves Darts and Pool.

Completion of this mission unlocks the Dating subgame.

Easy Fare

Once you get outside the glowing circle on your minimap, stop the car and wait there until your Wanted Level drops to zero.Roman
Reward: $100
Roman will ask you to pick up Jermaine. Head over to his place, which is indicated on the map. Pick him up and take him to his destination. When you get there the police will show up and you'll gain a wanted level. You must now drive away and lose the police that are chasing you. Hit the gas to get away from the first wave of cops, then watch your minimap and plan an escape route that takes you in the opposite directions of the policecars as marked on the map. Your goal is to get outside the flashing circle, which indicates the area in which they'll be looking for you. Once you get outside the circle, you can still be seen by a cop, so stop your car the instant you're outside the cirlce and wait there until your Wanted Level drops to zero. At that point, it's safe to return to the cab office. If you can, head back toward the cab office during your escape, because once you lose the police you'll have to drop off Jermaine not too far from there.

You'll drop Jermaine off at the Pay'n'Spray. You can use Pay'n'Sprays in the future to escape pursuing cops, as well as repair your damaged vehicle. Note that unlike previous GTA games, you won't clear your Wanted Level if you enter a Pay'n'Spray while the cops watch you enter!

Completion of this mission unlocks missions for Vlad.

Jamaican Heat

Stay crouched while you're gunning down the gangsters for greater accuracy.Roman
Reward: $150
Go back to the cab office and Roman will ask you to make another pickup. Head over to Little Jacob, who is hanging out in the park. He'll ask you to head over to the destination indicated on the map. He'll also give you a pistol and ask you to watch out for anyone who may try to jump him. Head down the alley and up the stairs to the right to the destination spot, then crouch down to watch over the area. Three men with gusn will arrive, and you'll have to shoot them dead. Stay crouched, lock onto them with the Left Trigger, and shoot to kill. You'll also have to take out a fourth guy that appears on the roof across from you and to the left after you kill the first three. When you have taken out all the enemies, pick up their weapons for ammo, then get back in the car and drive Little Jacob where he needs to go. You'll get to keep the pistol.

You'll soon receive a call from Vlad who's got a job for you. He's indicated by a large "V" on the minimap, right across the street from the safehouse. Little Jacob also gives you a call shortly thereafter with his own set of jobs. He's the "LJ" on the minimap.

Completion of this mission unlocks the Taxi Fare missions for Roman and missions for Little Jacob.

Bull in a China Shop
Vlad
Reward: $50
Someone's not paying Vlad, so you need to go "teach him a lesson." You can take a cab to this location if you want; the address is on Camden Ave. When you get there you're supposed to find an object, like a brick, and throw it through the window. You can also pull out a gun and just shoot the window. If you're having trouble, pull the L-trigger to auto-target the window. The owner will come out and give you Vlad's money, so take it back to Vlad to end the mission.

Drive around a bit and you'll receive a text from Vlad for your next mission.

Hung Out to Dry
Vlad
Reward: $100

For whatever reason, Vlad wants the Blista squeaky clean before you bring it back to him, so take it to the car wash first.Head over to the laundromat. Park out front facing north, then enter the shop. The owner will run out the back and hop in his van. Run back out through the front door and get in your car, then step on the gas! Move quickly, because it won't take long for him to get away. You need to ram the shopkeeper's van with your vehicle until it stops and the driver speaks to you in a cut scene. You do not, however, want to destroy the van, or you'll fail the mission. After the cut scene you'll report the news to Vlad, who tells you to drop by for his next task.

Clean Getaway
Vlad
Reward: $150
You'll have to take the train to your destination, so walk over to the train station, then climb the stairs to the platform. Wait for the train to arrive, then press Y to enter. When you reach your destination, exit the platform down the stairs and walk over to the silver Blista as marked on your minimap by a blue dot. Walk right up to it and get in (but note the onscreen directions to learn how to throw a Stun Punch for future reference). Drive off and Vald will call you and ask that you take it to the car wash. Find it on your minimap and follow the waypoint route there. Once the car is clean, you can drive it over to the lockup.

Let Ivan live, and he's show up as a Random Character later in the game. Kill him, and you'll see one spectacular fall!Ivan the Not So Terrible
Vlad
Reward: $200
After meeting with Vlad, hop in your car and head over to Roman's office. On the way there you'll see Ivan leaving in his car. Chase him until he gets out of his car at the construction site. You then have to climb up some ladders. Stand next to the ladder and press Y to get on the ladder. When you both get to the top, Ivan will climb onto a crane and jump to the next building. You have to follow him and jump between buildings by pressing X while running.

Finally, he'll end up on a ledge and you can decide to kill him or let him live, as indicated by the fact that his dot on the minimap is flashing red and blue. This is your choice, so do what you see fit. After you make your decision, descend the nearby stairs, then drop down the ledges to the ground. This is the last of Vlad's missions, and his "V" will be removed from the map hereafter.

If you let Ivan live, you'll unlock Ivan's as a Random Character later in the game, after you complete the mission "Actions Speak Louder Than Words."

Uncle Vlad
Roman
This mission only becomes available after you complete Vlad's four missions. After the cut scene with Roman, get in a car with Roman and drive to the Comrades bar. There, Vlad will run, leaving two thugs behind to deal with you. Ignore them and run out through the front door in pursuit. Vlad will get in his car and drive off, so get in your own vehicle and give chase. Eventually Vlad will crash, and you'll catch up to him. You can then perform an execution on Vlad by following the onscreen prompts.

As you approach the vans, leave the sirens on until they pull over.Crime and Punishment
Roman
When you get control, make a left and run down the street. You'll see a police car pull up and the police officer get out. After he runs off, hop in the police car. You'll then have to search the South Broker area indicated on your minimap for three vans and pull over each one. Click the Left Analog Stick to activate the sirens, and leave them on until the van pulls over. At that point, shut them off, get out of the cop car, and approach the vehicle's driver. Niko will automatically speak to the driver and ask to see the contents of the van. You'll know you've gotten the right one when the passenger pulls a gun on you. Instead of shooting back, you can just climb into the van and drive away. Head to lockup indicated on your map and park the vehicle there.

Completion of this mission unlocks missions for Faustin and unlocks the Vigilante & Most Wanted side missions.

When prompted, shoot the man in the middle in the leg. Shoot him anywhere else and you fail the mission.Do You Have Protection?
Faustin
Reward: $400
Faustin's street has some nice cars on it that you can "borrow."

Hop into a car and drive over to the sex shop. Enter the shop and Dimitri will hand you a gun. You must target the guy on the right. Dimitri will then ask you to target the guy in the middle and shoot him in the leg. Do so, and you can leave the shop. Hop back in the car and Dimitri will direct you to a blackmarket gun store. You can only buy the Micro-SMG and some Body Armor, but at least the Micro-SMG is free this time. Grab both, hop back in the car, and drop Dimitri back at Faustin's house. The next Faustin mission is available at his club.

Final Destination
Faustin
Reward: $500
After the cut scene, head over to the location marked on your minimap, and when you get there, Niko will call Faustin. He'll tell you to kill Lenny on the station platform. The platform is north (downhill) of your location. Take out an appropriate weapon before you get to the platform. When you get there, you'll see Lenny and a thug. The thug will draw a weapon and Lenny will try to run. Shoot the thug and pursue Lenny. Watch for trains as you cross the tracks. Try to target and kill Lenny as he runs down the stairs or when he first gets into his car. If you can't get him then, he'll drive away, and you don't want that. There is an unattended car nearby you can use if push comes to shove. If you can, steal Lenny's car, it's a well-handling sports car.

If you haven't done the two missions for Little Jacob yet, now's as good a time as any. You'll also receive an email from Roman about this time, which unlocks the mission "Logging On".

You could get out of the car and gun these three thugs down, but why bother when you have a perfectly good vehicle with which to run them over?Concrete Jungle
Little Jacob
Reward: $200
Pick up Little Jacob and take him to his destination. He'll then ask you to pull around into the alley in the back. After a few moments some drug dealers will run out the back. You have to waste them. They're armed with guns, so the best way is to run them over. When you've gotten all three of them, go back and pick up Little Jacob.

You'll then have to take him to a town house. When you get there, follow Jacob to the front door and take cover behind the wall as prompted onscreen. When Jacob kicks the door in, target the drug dealer on the stairs, pop out, and shoot him! Next, head left to the window, target the thug in the room, and shoot him when you're not taking cover. Follow Jacob inside now and take out the drug dealers to the left, ducking behind the couch for cover. There are more thugs in the kitchen, including one that hides behind a wall. Shoot that one through the hole in the wall, then pick up the First Aid Kit off the table, if you need it. Nothing left to do now but drive Little Jacob back to the cafe to end the mission.

Keep a healthy distance from the drug dealer, but not so much that you can't see him.Shadow
Little Jacob
After speaking to Jacob, go to the dealer in South Bohan. You'll have to cross a bridge that requires stopping at a toll booth. If you don't stop at the booth you'll get a one star wanted level. When you get to your destination you'll see the drug dealer heading back to his base of operations. You'll have to follow him at a distance. If you get too far away, you'll lose him. If you get too close, you'll spook him and he'll start to run. Be forewarned: your idiot cousin Roman will try to call you as you exit the first alley; hold back and Cancel the call to avoid alerting the drug dealer.

Follow the dealer across the street and down the alley. Follow him through a building and he'll cross another street and jump a fence. Climb over it with the X button. The drug dealer then walk though a hole in a wall and enter a door to the left. Go all the way up the stairs until you're on the same level he is (the fifth floor). If you end up on the roof, you've gone one level too far. There is a gun outside the apartment. Shoot the lock and then shoot the three drug dealers inside.

Completion of this mission unlocks Badman as a Random Charater and unlocks Little Jacob's Drug Delivery missions.

Logging On
Roman
This one is simple. All you have to do is go over to the internet cafe as marked on your map as the @ symbol. Speak with the assistant, get on a computer, click on the Web icon to access it, then click "Check Mail" on the main page. Read the welcome email from Eyefind, then click Reply to respond. Exit the cafe to complete this mission.

In "No Love Lost," take cover behind the trees while you're gunning the bikers down.Completing this mission unlocks Brucie's Exotic Exports side missions.

No Love Lost
Faustin
Head over to the marker and have a talk with Fustin's daughter. You'll then have to chase after her biker boyfriend on a motorcycle. There is an unattended motorcycle nearby you can take. The onscreen prompts will note that you can shoot by holding down the left shoulder button, though this is inadvisable in this situation, as you should really focus more on your driving and avoiding other vehicles than trying to gun down your target. Eventually he'll meet up with his fellow bikers and lead you to a park where they'll all dismount and fire at you with their weapons. Get off your own bike and quickly get behind a tree for the shootout. Use the trees as cover and take them out, one by one. When you're ready to leave there are a bunch of motorcycles you can choose from, if you want one.

Rigged to Blow
Faustin
Reward: $700
First off, go to the old factory that's marked on your minimap and find the truck you're looking for. Get in and drive it into the garage, being careful not to bang up the truck too much to prevent it from exploding! When you reach your destination, press the left shoulder button as indicated to set the bomb. You'll see a scene, and at the end of that scene you'll be on the street. Escape either on foot or steal a car, or if you don't mind trying to shake a Wanted Level, stay there and listen to the man using the cell phone in front of the garage for an interesting conversation.

After you take out Faustin's first two goons, approach the bar and take cover behind it.Completion of this mission unlocks the Master and the Molotov mission.

The Master and the Malotov
Dimitri
Dimitri will ask you to go to the club and kill Faustin. Before you go, make sure you have some good weapons (see the Secrets page for maps showing where you can grab them for free). If you don't have any Body Armor, Dimitri will leave you some around the side of the building. Head into the club and you'll see a scene. After this scene, you'll have to take out the first two guards. Kill them, then approach the bar Faustin's hiding behind. Faustin will then run out the back.

The room is still full of guards, so you can either kill all of them, or follow Faustin. We suggest you take out as many as you can before you run outside, but don't dawdle, or Faustin will escape. He'll run outside to the alley, where you'll face more guards, and run up the stairs to the right. Gun down the guards, then follow him up to the roof for his execution.

Stay under cover at all times during the shootout in the warehouse. Note the Molotov Cocktails on the right.
Once you've cleared the warehouse out, run past the cops out back, get into a car, and hit the gas!Russian Revolution
Dimitri
Dimitri will call and ask you to meet him at a warehouse. Little Jacob will call you shortly thereafter and tell you to meet him around back, in case anything goes wrong. Of course it will go wrong, so you'll also want some good weapons, a suit of Body Armor, and plenty of ammo. After a scene you'll end up under cover in a shootout. Little Jacob will help you out in the center, so you can flank your enemies on the left or right sides. Little Jacob will move up as far as forward as you do, so try not to move too far too quickly. There's a suit of Body Armor behind the second row of cover in the middle of the warehouse, some regenerating First Aid Kits in the room on the right, and some Molotov Cocktails on the right wall.

When you see a short scene and hear some sirens, that means the police have arrived. The only exit is the door on the far side, so run through that. The police will be there, firing at you, so run for a car and get in! You can, if you like, thin out the cops before you make your break. You'll then have to drive out of the area because you'll have a two-star Wanted Level. Shedding it isn't too difficult; just stick to the roads that don't have police symbols on them (check the minimap). As soon as you're outside the flashing circle and there are no cops around, stop the car and wait for your Wanted Level to disappear. Now finish up the mission by getting Little Jacob back to the cafe.

Chapter 2
Take Little Jacob's advice and give Roman a call. Go to his location, marked on the minimap.

Roman's Sorrow
Roman
After the cut scene, get in a car with Roman drive over to his apartment, then the cab company. Finally, cruise over to Bohan to see your new apartment/safehouse. You should also note that the old gun shop will be closed off for a while. Now would be a good time to do Brucie's missions; he's marked with a "B" on your map.

Completion of this mission unlocks the Escuela of the Streets mission.

Don't try to gun Lyle down during the pursuit; just focus on not crashing your car!Search and Delete
Brucie
First off, you'll need a police car. The easist way to get one is to call 911 and wait for a police car to arrive. Steal the car then leave the area to lose your wanted level. You can then access the computer by stopping the car and holding down the left shoulder button. Choose "search police records" then you must then enter the name "Lyle Rivas" in the computer to locate him. This will place Lyle's location on your minimap.

Go there, park facing north, then approach Lyle's door for a cut scene, after which Lyle will run away from you. He'll hop in his car and lead you on a high-speed chase across the expressways of Liberty City. Run back to your vehicle and follow him, and don't even think about trying to shoot him while you're in your car; just focus on not crashing and wrecking your wheels. Eventually he'll crash. Run him down or shoot him before he gets away.

You'll be under constant gunfire as you drive Lyle's car back to the garage, but it won't be enough to total the vehicle.Easy as Can Be
Brucie
Reward: $3500
Head over to the location indicated and you'll find Lyle's car in a nearby lot. When you get in, some thugs will pull up behind you and start shooting at you. You can either drive away, or get out of the car and shoot it out. If you choose to shoot, know that you'll get attacked by two cars as you leave the alley. Your other option is to drive away as fast as you can and try to lose them. Heading into the pay-n-spray is a good way to shake them if you're having trouble, but in all honesty you can just follow the waypoint route to the garage laid out for you on your minimap and you in all likelihood won't have any trouble getting there (a few bullet holes in the car aside, of course).

After you completed the "Roman's Sorrow" mission, you may have noticed than an "M" appeared on your map. This is Manny, and he's got a few missions for you. Drive over there now for your first one.

Buy a drink from the green soda machine to replenish your health in the warehouse shootout.Escula of the Streets
Manny
Reward: $1000
This is a combat mission, so make sure you have weapons, ammo, and Body Armor.

There is a car on the street nearby. Hop in and drive to the location indicated on the minimap. Here you'll see a drug dealer get into a car. Follow him in your vehicle, but stay at least two car lengths away from him at all times or you'll spook him. Spook him enough times and you'll fail the mission. When the deal reaches his destination at a warehouse, park behind him.

You'll then have to take out all the dealers inside the warehouse. You can enter through the front door (after shooting off the lock) or by breaking in through the window. You can also go to the building to the south, walk up the stairs to it's roof, cross over to the warehouse and shoot through the skylight. Quickly gun down the dealers in the immediate area, then take cover! There is a small room to the left with a first aid kit if you need it and a soda machine at the back where you can buy soda to replenish your health. There's a walkway on the right you can use to flank them, if you so desire. Gun down all eight of the drug dealers, then leave the warehouse to end the mission.

Completion of this mission unlocks Mel as a Random Character.

Note: Another way to get into the building, is to walk towards the back of the building, climb some stairs, walk across the planks of wood connecting the buildings and jumping in through the open window on the top.

Street Sweeper
Manny
This can be an incredibly frustrating mission if you opt not to cheat your way through it. Manny will ask you to take out some gang members at a garage not far from his location. There are three inside the garage, and one of them has an SMG. There are two more that will try to get away in a car as soon as you start shooting. The easiest way to do this is to actually get out of your vehicle to do the shooting, rather than attempt the much more difficult drive-by. Quickly kill the three in the garage, then get back in your vehicle and chase down the two in the car. Try to force them off the road or into a corner, then get out and yank them out of the car so you can drive over them, or shoot them. The chances that all this run'n'gunning will attract the cops is very good, so be prepared to avoid the police while you're at it.

An easier way to do this is to park your car just outside the garage where the gangsters have their car. Get out of your car and take cover. Do a headshot on the driver and then directly kill the gangster with the SMG. By this time the gang member who was in the passenger seat will try to get in the driver seat, kill him with a simple head shot. Now all you have to do is to take out the last two gang members outside the garage.

Completion of this mission unlocks missions for Elizabeta. She appears as an "E" icon on your map.

One thug will try to attack Packie face to face; kill him fast!
If the guy at the back of the alley gets in the van, shoot him through the windshield.Luck of the Irish
Elizabeta
Reward: $1500
After your introduction to Elizabeta, head over to the building marked on your minimap, enter, and take the stairs to the roof. You'll find a sniper rifle. Grab it and head over to the vantage point to watch over the deal. It will go wrong, so shoot anyone with a red marker over their heads. Hold down the Left Trigger to look through the scope, and use the Left Analog Stick to zoom in on your targets. Gun them down one by one, and watch for a thug that runs up to Packie and struggles with him; be sure to take him out as soon as the onscreen prompt warns you that Packie's in trouble. Also keep an eye out for the guy at the far back who climbs into a van and tries to run over your guys. After you've cleaned house, you get to keep the sniper rifle! Just make sure not to fire all the bullets in it, or you'll lose it.

NOTE: If you fail this mission, you keep the sniper rifle and ammo, so if you want to stock up, just keep repeating the mission and shooting Packie until you've got all the ammo you need.

Completion of this mission unlocks Packie's missions and unlocks the sniper rifle at the gun shop.

You'll be paired with Playbox X for some protection duty. Drive him to your contact's apartment as marked on the minimap, then follow him to the third floor. At the scene of the deal, a bunch of N.O.O.S.E. (aka S.W.A.T.) will show up. You'll have to take out the buyers first (three of them), then a bunch of N.O.O.S.E. team members outside in the hallway. Make sure to pick up the improved SMG that they drop. You'll have to fight your way to the roof, where more N.O.O.S.E. members await. Be sure to grab the Body Armor up there behind one of the air conditioning units. Continue to gun your way back down the other building, and don't lower your guard, because there'll be cops in there, too. Head out the door and there should be a car outside. Hop in, wait for Playboy X, then take off and try to lose your two-star Wanted Level. When it's gone, take Playboy X back to his apartment in Algonquin.

Completion of this mission unlocks Algonquin Isle and Playboy X's missions.

The three lookouts will all be on the ends of the crane booms, such as this poor fellow.Deconstruction for Beginners
Playboy X
Reward: $6500
Get in a vehicle and drive over to the car that Playboy has waiting. Inside are various weapons. Next, head over to the platform lift and ride it to the top of the building. Use the sniper rifle to take out the three guys on the tops of the cranes. The third crane is close to the building you're standing on, and isn't visible from everywhere on the roof. When they're dead, shoot all the other armed men an the construction site, then head down the lift. Your goal now is to go into the construction site and take out the four union leaders and all of their guards.

Crane Method

The first union leader is under the scaffolding on the north side of the building in progress. Grab a vehicle and smash through the gate on the north side of the construction site. Walk in, then use the sniper rifle to look for the red marker over the union leader's head. Take him out, then head to the west side of the site. You'll find a hot dog vendor nearby if you need health. Smash though the gate, then climb up one of the cranes here. You can snipe the second and third union leaders from this position. If you're having trouble spotting the second union leader from here, go to the crane to the southeast of the north entrance for a better angle. Be careful when driving around the yard, as there are several explosive barrels scattered around. After you get the third leader, a helicopter will show up and land. Snipe the pilot to prevent the final union leader from escaping. After the helicopter is down, use your rifle to take out any other enemies you can see. Go over to the east side of the construction site and head up the ramp where you'll find the final union leader. Kill him and you'll complete the mission.

On-Foot Method

The first union leader is shootable from the street if you find the correct angle. He's on the right side of the building, just zoom in and pop him with the sniper rifle. Then head around the left side of the barricades, following the street to the next entrance. Theoritically you've already killed the ground troops for this area, but if not, keep an eye out. You want to make your way up the ramps to the left. When you reach the top, a mini-cinematic will initiate, leaving you behind cover with your grenades out. Take out the close enemies with the grenades, and the union leader is down the way. After that, head back to where the ramp reached the roof, and there is a path leading to behind the building. Straight ahead, at the edge of the building, there is a guy hiding behind some debris. Kill him, and all the other enemies are to the right. Take cover behind the I-beam, and take them out. The union leader is on the far side, staring off into the distance. You can either run up there, or snipe him from a position left of the I-beam. As soon as you kill the union leader, a helicopter and many more bad guys will start approaching. Take cover behind the same I-beam, but on the other side. Get our your sniper rifle, and take out the pilot of the helicopter as it lands. If you do it quick enough, the other 4 guys in the helicopter should be killed by the explosion. Mop up the rest of the approaching bad guys from your cover, and all that should be left is the union leader. Kill him and you're done, there is no escape to worry about, so gather any guns you like or wander around looking for pigeons.

NOTE: Do not try to steal this helicopter; the game will not allow it to happen. In fact, to make sure you don't take it, the helicopter will blow up if you shoot the pilot, even when it's on the ground.

Completing this mission unlocks the Russian Assault Rifle in the gun shop.

Use the Right Analog Stick to aim while shooting from your motorcycle.Ruff Rider
Dwayne
Follow the marker over to the arcade. After a scene there you can either execute Cherise or let her live. Make your decision quickly, because you have to chase after Jayvon on his motorcycle. Hop on the nearby motorbike and begin your pursuit, gunning him down before he escapes. After you've killed him, grab the cash he drops and meet up with Dwayne at the local Cluckin' Bell to end the mission.

If you spare Cherise, you'll be able to unlock her Random Character mission later in the game after you complete the mission "The Holland Play."

Snipe Javier from the entrance to the back hallway so that Jesus can't run past you.Undress to Kill
Dwayne
After receiving your mission, head over to the Triangle strip club in Bohan as marked on your minimap. You're tasked with taking out the three managers, but they won't be specifically marked until you listen in on a conversation that mentions one of them. If you listen to the two men speaking by the railing in the club's main room you'll hear them talking about Jose counting money in the back room, placing a red enemy mark on your minimap for you in the process. He's behind the door marked "PRIVATE: STAFF ONLY" a few feet back, so head in there and knife him from behind to avoid any gunplay. As soon as any shots are fired in the club, the security guards will rush you and the other managers will run, meaning that you'll have to chase them down by car, which you don't want.

To find the next manager, head back to the main room and find the man speaking with the stripper past the left stage. He'll appear on your minimap as the second manager, Javier, but you don't want to kill him just yet since he's out in the open. Instead, head to the club's rear hallway where the private dance rooms are. There's a man getting a lap dance in the room on the left, and you'll see that he's the third manager after the bouncer mentions his name, Jesus.

Unfortunately, you'll have to use your firearms at this point, meaning that one of the remaining managers is going to make a run for it. Try to position yourself at the end of the hall so that the second manager is in your sights, quickly hit him with your sniper rifle, then spin around and kill the third manager before he can get out of the lap dance room. If he manages to get past you and out of the club, he'll get in a truck and drive away, so try your best to prevent this from happening.

Photo Shoot
Playboy X
After the cut scene where Playboy X gives you your new camera phone, head over to the basketball court marked on your map. Walk past the fence, but don't actually step onto the court; just stay at the edge. Use your phone's camera function to take a photo of one of the guys standing around talking. You can see what the photo will look like by looking at the screen of the phone; you'll need to get a shot of his face for it to register. Send Playboy the photo and he'll call you back and tell you if it's the right one (it will always be the guy in the jacket with the hood.) Playboy will then give you the go-ahead to kill Marlon. The easiest way to do this is to walk to the other side of the street (out of eyesight of the three guys) and take him out with a sniper rifle. Make sure it's a headshot so he can't run away. Hop into a car and leave the area the moment he's dead, because his friends will start shooting at you, and you'll most likely have attracted the attention of any cops in the vicinity!

Completion of this mission unlocks the Random Character, Jeff.

Out of the Closet
Brucie
Reward: $6750
Go to the internet cafe and use a computer. Get on the Web, then head to Love-meet.net (there's an ad for it right on the first page). Click on the "male" section under "Find Love" and then click on French Tom. On his profile, click on the Date button to send him a message. Before you leave the internet cafe, make sure you get the message that tells you to wait for French Tom to respond. You'll have to wait and come back later to check your email, so you can go off and do some other missions if you feel like it. Some time later, you'll get a text message from Brucie asking you to check your email. Head back to the internet cafe and check it. You'll get an invitation to go to the diner at 8:00, so make sure you reply back and agree to the meeting. If you miss the appointment you'll get a text message to meet again at 12:00. Head over to the diner next to your old safehouse and go in. Go right to find French Tom and initiate some dialogue with him. When you're ready to kill him, stand up and shoot French Tom. When you exit some people may or may not shoot at you, but you can easily get away.

Go slow on those corners or you'll spin out!No. 1
Brucie
Hop in your car (or steal one) and head over to the car you're supposed to pick up. Hop in the yellow sportscar and drive over to the race start. When the race starts, follow the markers on your mini-map. If you drive off the street and pass a marker, you'll have to go back to get it, or you'll lose. It will take a few checkpoints for you to get into first place, but once you're there, you need to make sure you drive carefully.

The key to winning this race is all in how you handle the turns; in other words, take them slowly. You don't want to spin out and watch in frustration as three racers zip past you while you're facing the wrong direction. When you win the race, you'll get to keep the car! Take Brucie home to finish up this mission.

This mission establishes Brucie as a Friend and unlocks his Racing missions; call him to set one up.

If you're having trouble following the train, open your map and set a waypoint here to the south to make the first two-thirds of the chase a cakewalk, then set a second waypoint as indicated to get the rest of the way to the train platform. The Puerto Rican Connection
Manny
Reward: $1250
You'll be chasing a train across town, and you must arrive at the start location with a car. Have it pointed downhill. When the train arrives you'll have to follow it, and this is no easy task. Thankfully, there's almost always a road that runs beneath or parallel to the train tracks, so as long as you don't crash your car too much or get stuck in a dead-end alley, you should be fine. Keep following the train until it stops at the station. When it does, get out of your car, but don't go up to the platform. The three guys you have to take down will come down the stairs to you, so shoot them one by one. One of them will try to run away on foot. You can either chase him on foot or by car.

Completion of this mission unlocks missions for Francis McReary (who shows up as a "?" symbol on your map at this time), as well as the random characters Ilyena, Hossan, Sara, and Pathos.

After you make the call to your contact, look for the guy in the hooded jacket speaking on his cell phone, then ice him.Call and Collect
Unknown Contact: Officer Frank McReary
Reward: $1000
Upon arrival you'll see that the "Unknown Contact" is actually Francis McReary. You'll be asked to go to the viewpoint off Union Drive East. When you're there, you'll get a phone call. You'll be given the blackmailer's phone number. Walk down to the promenade near the hot dog stand, then call the number and see who answers their phone. He's a guy in a jacket with a hood. Walk over to him while you're talking. You can call him a second time if you want to be sure. If you get too close he'll try to run. When you know who it is, back off and hit him in the head with a shot from your sniper rifle. Now run over to his body and pick up the object that he drops, then sprint back to your vehicle, because you've now got a two-star Wanted Level! Shake the cops, then bring the object to the next meeting point to conclude this mission. Francis McReary will now show up on your map as the "FM" symbol.

Buy a new suit & tie and smart shoes prior to the interview or you won't get in! (Thankfully, as in the case of this screenshot, your ride does not have to be so classy).
Despite what the onscreen prompt tells you, don't pull a firearm on Goldberg; use a nice quiet knife instead.Final Interview
Frank McReary
Reward: $1000
Your mission is to take out the lawyer Tom Goldberg. Check your email at any tw@ and read the message from McReary. Follow the link on the email Frank McReary sent you. Click on "Careers," then click "Submit Resume." Read Niko's humorous take on his past, then click "Submit Resume" again. Leave the internet cafe now; you'll have to wait for a while for them to get back to you. Now head down to the Perseus clothing shop at the southern end of Algonquin and buy a suit & tie and smart shoes for the interview. Do not wear a hat or glasses. Eventually you'll get a text message with an appointment time.

Head over to the location with plenty of time to spare so that you aren't late. Go in and speak to the receptionist. She'll lead you to the interview. During the interview, stand up and pull out your knife. Goldberg will tell you where the files are (on the desk). Then kill him with your knife and leave the office. If you shoot him you'll attract everyone's attention and you'll have to shoot your way out, and shake a three-star Wanted Level. You don't want that, so don't pull a firearm. Use the knife. When he's dead, grab the files and leave the office with no one the wiser to what you've done. Drive them back to McReary's location to complete the mission.

Holland Nights
Francis McReary
Reward: $5000
Head over to the location marked on your minimap after your chat with Frank. You have a choice to make: kill Clarence, or let let him live? Killing him is far easier. Although you miss out on his random mission later on, this mission is just to kill him anyway, so you're not really missing out on anything. The random mission is not required for any of the achievements or 100% completion.

If you want to kill him, then the easiest way is to just shoot him in the head from across the street with a sniper rifle. You'll want to have a car ready, because you'll have a two-star Wanted Level you'll need to shake.

If, on the other hand, you want to keep him alive, you'll have a little more of a challenge on your plate. Head up to the second floor of Clarence's location with no weapons drawn, then whip out the piece when you get closer to Clarence. Kill his homeboys, then chase Clarence to the roof, where he'll be trapped. There you can decide to let him live, or if you've changed your mind, gun him down.

If you let Clarence live, you'll unlock his Random Character mission later in the game, after you complete the mission "Blood Brothers."

This is your target's apartment. Zoom in on his phone to see the number you have to call to lure him into view.Lure
Francis McReary
Reward: $5000
When you accept this mission, head to the first marker on your map to find a sports car with a sniper rifle in it. Head to the next marker to find your target. Head to the building on the west side of the street and enter the red door. Head up the stairs to the rooftop to take up your position. You'll see a scene at the top, after which you'll see that you don't have a clear shot at your target.

Notice the victim's telephone. Getting any bright ideas? Zoom in on the phone with your sniper scope to see the number (545-555-0122), then call it. Your target will get up to answer it, giving you a clear shot at him. You can also shoot the TV or the TV dish, and he'll look out the window, but it's better just to call the phone. Put one in his brain, then go back downstairs to end the mission.

If you're going after Playboy X, take out his four friends from the doorway. The Holland Play
Playboy X
Reward: $25000 for killing Dwayne or new safehouse for killing Playboy X
At some point after you complete the mission "Photo Shoot" for Playboy X and "Undressed to Kill" for Dwayne, Playboy X will give you a call and ask you to kill Dwayne. After the cut scene with him ends, you'll have to wait awhile to get a call from Dwayne asking you to kill Playboy X. Wait some more, and Playboy X will call once again, pressing you to make your decision. At this point, you can kill either one. They'll both be added to your map: a red "X" for Playboy and a red "D" for Dwayne. Make sure you've got a good weapon and Body Armor before going after your target.

When you reach street level during your pursuit of Playboy X, shoot the thugs in this SUV to scare them off.Killing Dwayne

You'll have a much easier time killing Dwayne; he only has one friend with a bat, and Dwayne himself has no weapon at all. You'll get $25000 for icing him, but when you call Playboy X he tells you that you killed his mentor, and seeing you would remind him of Dwayne. You get no additional safehouse.

Killing Playboy X

If you want to kill Playboy X, head over to his apartment. You'll see a short scene, then get in a gunfight with his friends. You'll start off with good cover in a doorway. Kill his four friends in the first room and then Playboy will run away. Jump over to the next roof and take the stairs down. At the bottom, some of his thug friends will show up in an SUV. Shoot at them to scare them off, then chase Playboy X across the intersection and into the alley on the right, where he's trapped. Run up to him and shoot him; use a pistol to do it execution-style. You'll then call Dwayne and get Playboy X's apartment to use as a safehouse. You also unlock Dwayne as a Friend.

Chapter 3

Take cover behind this low wall and chuck a grenade toward the first group of thugs to get this mission started with a bang! The Snow Storm
Elizabeta
Reward: $2500

Once you've got the coke and you've gunned your way back outside, your safest bet is to sprint to this truck at the hole in the fence and use that to escape.Head over to the old hospital. You'll have to take out all the enemies here. Note the location of the truck parked outside, you may want to use it as an escape vehicle later. You can also park your own car, facing out, next to the truck so you're ready to leave in a hurry.

The sniper rifle works well for the enemies you can see from the outside. Another good tactic is to take cover behind the low wall separating the parking lot from the old hospital and chuck a grenade at the first group of thugs clustered on the left by the vehicle. There is a ladder on the southern side of the hospital you can use to access part of the second floor; this location works well for gunning down the thugs below. Notice the red canisters; you can shoot these and they'll explode, taking out any nearby enemies.

Your objective (the bag of coke) is a room in the back on the ground floor, in the room just north of the southwest corner. There are thugs here, along with some Body Armor. Before you pick up the bag, be sure you know the way out of the building. When you do pick up the bag, the N.O.O.S.E. team will arrive. Some N.O.O.S.E. members will be in the building, and a lot more will be outside. Fight your way to the northern door, and be careful when you get there, because there will be a large group of police and N.O.O.S.E. funneling in there. Clear the room, run out the door, then sprint to your car or, better yet since it's closer, the truck outside. You'll have a three-star Wanted Level you'll need to shake, and a helicopter will already be in the area. You'll have to drive really well to get away! Try to find a good straightaway to build up some speed then cut off on a turn that isn't infested with cops. Keep an eye on your minimap to see which streets have cops on them, and avoid those like ebola.

Another option, if you don't like driving, is to sprint for the water. Don't bother with the stairs, just jump in. There is a fast boat you can use and being on the water shakes all the police cars. It's so fast it can even outrun the police helicopters.

Once you lose your Wanted Level, meet up with Little Jacob and you'll see a scene that's rather important to the plot, and possibly your romantic life...

Completion of this mission unlocks the combat shotgun in the gun store and unlocks missions for U.L. Paper (if you have completed the mission, "Photo Shoot").

Drive carefully the whole way to the doctor, and be patient when you reach the toll booth!Have a Heart
Elizabeta
Reward: $3000
This mission only unlocks after you've completed all of the Manny missions.

You'll lose whatever car you bring to this mission, so don't arrive in something nice! After the cut scene, hop in the car provided and carefully drive the vehicle to the location marked on the map. If you get in even the slightest fender bender, the trunk will open, and if any cops see it you'll get a Wanted Level, so try your best to keep it under the limit, speed racer.

Alternatively, if you're having trouble driving to the destination without banging into everything, you can just destroy the car at any point. You won't get paid for completing the mission, but it's a good option if you have a lot of cops on your back and can't shake them.

Completion of this mission unlocks more missions for Packie.

Hostile Negotiation

When you reach Roman on the fourth floor, aim your weapon at his captor's head and shoot him, but don't hit your cousin!Roman
At some point after you have completed the missions "Roman's Sorrow," "Photo Shoot," and "Have a Heart," you'll receive a call from Mallorie who tells you that Roman has been kidnapped by the Russian Mob. Head over to the warehouse where he's being held, and bring some Body Armor with you. There is an AK out front, so be sure to grab it.

Head inside and you'll see a warehouse full of thugs. To get things started right, crouch and sneak along the low wall until you're a little ways past the two guys talking to each other. When you can see the guy smoking in the back corner, quickly pop up and shoot the explosive barrel next to him to kill him and knock some other thugs down. Gun them down and use cover to take them out. At the end of the hallway, there will be two first aid kits. On the second floor, near the third floor stairs, you can find more Body Armor.

On the third floor, after the first walkway, is a first aid kit on the wall. On the fourth floor in the room in the back is a guy waiting in the corner near the door. When you go into this last room have your assault rifle out. A guy will be holding Roman hostage. You must shoot him in the head, and you'll only have three chances to do it. Use free aim, rather than locking on. When you free Roman, follow him out of the building. Hop in the truck and drive him home.

Completion of this mission unlocks a new safehouse in east Algonquin.

Shooting at Oleg's car through the streets of the city will bring the fuzz down on you hard, so just stick to ramming it.Wrong is Right
Unknown Contact: Michelle (Karen) via U. L. Paper
Reward: $6500
After you complete the missions "Photo Shoot" and "The Snow Storm," a "?" will appear on your map indicating Michelle and the U.L. Paper company. Head there to begin the first of your U.L. Paper missions. After the scene with Michelle, go to Oleg's Apartment in Hove Beach. When you get there, check his computer on the coffee table. Open up his email and read the one labeled "Meet me" from Vasily. After your phone call with your U.L. Paper contact, head over to the jewelry store. You'll want a fast car, as you'll have to chase Oleg when you get there. Oleg drives fast and makes several sharp turns, so it will be very difficult for you to keep up with him. When you follow him into an alley and knocks down a bunch of pipes that block the way, back out into the street, make a right, and continue the pursuit. You can open fire on Oleg's car during the chase, but all this gunfire will definitely attract the attention of the cops, so be prepared to have them shooting at you as well if you do that. Alternatively, just ram into Oleg's vehicle until he stops and begs you not to kill him, then finish the job by shooting him through the window.

Climb up on the blue container at the far right end of the second level of the building to see Dimayev.Portrait of a Killer
U.L. Paper
Reward: $6750
After the cut scene, wait to receive the message on your phone from your U.L. Paper contract, then steal a police car, lose your Wanted Level, and get on the computer. Select "Search Police Records", then "Search by Photo" and Upload your photo to search the database. This will give you your target, Adam Dimayev, and the location you need to go by hitting the "Locate" button. Once there, you can either put your sniper rifle to good use, or you can drive over to the north side of the area and attack from there. This side is uphill from many of the enemies, and gives you an advantage.

When you've cleared the area to the south, ascend the ladder next to the "No Manner Required" sign and get ready to get shot at again. Move behind the containers, going right, killing the thugs until once agian the coast is clear. Head around the last shipping container and look up to see Dimayev on the roof across the way. Either climb up the containers to the roof to gun him down up there, or toss a grenade up and hope you get lucky. Or you can try shooting the top of his from this level by backing up from the wall until he's visible.

Wait for the chopper to land, then snipe these two guards first.
Land the chopper here, between the warehouse and the radar tower.Dust Off
U.L. Paper
Reward: $7000
Head over to the location. You'll want a good car. When you get to the location you'll have to follow the helicopter. The route you need to take to tail the helicopter is pretty simple: just head south on Union Drive East, go through the Castle Tunnel, then head north on Union Drive West to the intersection at Hematite St. (NOTE: There are two Hematite Streets; skip the first one and make your left at the second one). Take a left to the pier there to find the chopper's landing site.

When you get to the landing site, let the copter land, lest you scare off the pilot. Wait for its marker on your map to turn blue, then move in. You'll see a bunch of bad guys. There are two near the entrance, and several more near the helicopter. Start off with the sniper rifle, then take out the rest with the assault rifle. When they're all dead, hop into the helicopter, press the Right Trigger to lift off, then fly it over to the airport (don't try and board the helicopter if there enemies around, or they'll kill you while you're sitting in the pilot's chair). Land at the indicator, and you'll be done. Be aware that going onto the runway will get you a four-star Wanted Level.

Some time will pass before another U.L. Paper mission becomes available, so this would be a good time to complete some missions for other contacts.

You'll want to be around this height for Little Jacob's rocket to hit the target.Paper Trail
U.L. Paper
Reward: $7500
You'll get a call from your U.L. Paper contact to start this mission. Head over to the salvage yard off Grummer Road where there is a helicopter waiting for you, then get in next to Little Jacob. Your goal is to follow the other helicopter, so press the Right Trigger to lift off, then hold it down as you're tapping forward on the Left Analog Stick to get enough speed to catch up to the other chopper. The other helicopter will lead you on a chase between some skyscrapers, but you can avoid all that by simply flying above them. When the other chopper is over the water, Little Jacob will try to shoot it down with a rocket launcher. You must fly at approximately the same level as the other helicopter and hold your aircraft steady for the missile to hit. After Little Jacob shoots it down, fly him to his landing point on the pier, after which you'll have free use of a helicopter. This is a good time to get the flying under bridges achievement, if you're going for that. You can also land the helicopter at your safehouse to save it for later. You may need to push the helicopter into the parking space by ramming it with a car.

A safe bet is to take cover behind this wall on the roof and gun down the thugs from above.Harboring a Grudge
Packie
Reward: $7500
After speaking to Packie hop into your car; there's also a sedan on the street you can take to the destination point. Follow Packie up on the roof, and watch the scene. Now, there are two ways you can handle this. One is to climb down on to the small structure with the skylight to the right, then take the stairs down to ground level to kill all the gang members. The second is to take cover behind the low wall at the edge of the roof and gun them down from up there. Either way, take out all the enemies here, including the ones on the boat on the right, and the few inside the warehouse. There's a first-aid kit in the warehouse office on the left, if you need it.

When the thugs are all dead, hop into the truck. Wait for Packie to get in, then start driving toward the marker. You'll be attacked by several cars the whole ride, so stay on course as best you can. You can drop grenades to discourage pursuit, but this tactic is of questionable effectiveness. Keep driving to the lockup, and pull in. Even if the gangsters are right on you, you'll still complete the mission.

If your health is low, pick up this first-aid kit next to the door to the warehouse before going inside.
When you get in the boat, don't go speeding off; wait for Packie to swim aboard!Waste Not Want Knots
Packie
Reward: $8000
You'll need a four door car for this mission. Don't bring anything too nice because you'll lose it during the mission. Drive to the location and everyone will get out. Hop over the two fence and the shooting will commence. Just make sure not to shoot your own teammates; they have an unhealthy habit of walking in front of you as you're shooting, and if any of them dies, you'll fail the mission. If you like, you can hang back and let the others do most of the work, but don't be too useless here, or one of your crew might suffer the consequences of someone not having his back.

When everyone outside is dead, pick up their ammo and enter the building. The door is covered by gunfire, so quickly back out or take cover as soon as you can. Kill everyone inside and head up to the office. When you grab the money more people will attack. You can either fight them or run out the way you came in- but they seemingly respawn instantly and infinitely, so best to run outside and head for the boat. Once outside, the first aid kit respawns. Run around to the end of the pier where Packie is waiting for you. Swim to the boat, then drive it to the marker- you only need to pick up Packie, don't worry about the other guys.

Completion of this mission enables you to date Kate and unlocks missions for Ray Boccino.

A Long Way to Fall
Ray Boccino
Reward: $8500
You'll want Body Armor for this mission, which involves a lot of shooting (and most likely, getting shot). After the scene with Ray at Drusilla's Ristorante Italiano, head over to the location marked on your map and you'll get a text message showing you a picture of the guy Ray wants dead. He has a grey shirt with the number 72 on it. Walk up to him. He won't tell you what you need to know, so pull out a gun and point it at him, or just beat him with your fists a few times. He'll direct you to a nearby building. Kill him at this point before he runs off to warn Teddy that you're coming.

Ride the elevator up to the 20th floor. When you get out, shoot the thugs there before they can draw their weapons. Continue fighting through this hall, taking out the enemies on both sides of you. When this floor is clear, head around to the stairs to clear the floor above (watch out for a thug on the staircase). First-aid kits can be found in at least two spots (one in a room, the other on a stair landing). The next floor up is already clear, and you'll see a yellow arrow. Before approaching it, make sure the guy on the stairs to the next floor is dead. Once you step into the arrow, a thug will appear around the corner to the right, so kill him before entering Teddy's apartment.

Clear out the apartment, and when you get to the kitchen you'll see a scene. You'll then have to chase Teddy up to the roof. Kill the thugs on the stairs on the way up and the guy hiding behind an A/C unit on the roof, then head to Teddy's location. Shoot him to complete the mission.

Shoot the cop cars; they blow up real good.Three Leaf Clover
Packie
Reward: $250000
You'll need a four door car for this mission. You'll also want some Body Armor; there are two gun stores on the way to the bank where you can stop off and get some if you feel like buying it.

When you arrive at the bank, watch the first scene, then head into the vault and grab the cash. You'll then see another scene, after which you'll have to shoot your way out of the bank, and out of the area. In each area, you'll see a message that you need to clear out the cops before you can proceed. They're represented by the red dots, and they'll all cluster around the various waypoints in your escape route.

During the first shootout in the street, shoot the back row of cop cars to cause them to explode, killing any cops around them. This is a good tactic for every street shootout: the cop cars are highly combustible. Keep shooting until all the red dots on your minimap are gone, then move up with your two partners, staying close to them at all times, lest you fail the mission. Also, if you accidentally kill one of them, the mission will end, so watch where you're aiming! If you choose to use grenades, make sure you know where your teammates are before you throw. Move around to the alley in the right, taking a left at the end of it, moving down the street, then entering another alley.

Don't let your guard down on the subway stairs; there are cops there, too! When you reach scene with a helicopter, you'll run into the subway. Watch out for the two cops around the corner; they can decimate your health if you let them get the drop on you. Several N.O.O.S.E. team members will file up the stairs on the right when you reach the ticket booths, so be prepared to gun them down as they appear. When the coast is clear, run down the tracks, but watch out for the train. If it comes, run onto the other track. Go to the marker and up the stairs to reach the street again.

You'll find a locked Huntley Sport SUV parked just to the right that you can steal. Quickly hop in and shake your three-star Wanted Level. The bridges out of Algonquin may be blocked, so you might want to head toward the north or south side of the island to get out of the Wanted radius. A good idea would be to enter a Pay 'n' Spray as long as there aren't any cops who can see you enter. Head back to Packie's to end the mission.

Completion of this mission establishes Packie as a Friend, unlocks Alderney Island, and unlocks missions for Gerry and Derrick McReary.

Chapter 4

Press the A button to open the trash compacter when you pick up the diamonds or...Tuna will yell at you.Taking in the Trash
Ray Boccino
Reward: $9000
This is a very easy mission. Your task here is to pick up a couple bags of diamonds. In what? A trash truck, naturally. The trash truck is within walking distance. Hop in the truck and drive to each marker on the map. Tuna and Johnny will grab the bags at each stop. Open the back both times so they can toss the bags in. After the second pickup, you'll be attacked by thugs in cars and have to drive away. Keep going as fast as you can and you'll outrun them soon enough. Just don't bang into too many objects or other vehicles or you'll fail the mission by destroying the truck (this is extremely hard to do). Drive to the marker on the map to finish the mission.

Shoot open the stall doors in the bathroom until you find Luca, then blast him.Meltdown
Ray Boccino
Reward: $9500
Head over to the location in Castle Gardens. You'll lose whatever vehicle you drive here in, so don't bring something nice. When you get to the location, you'll see Luca and his friends in a car. They'll drive away, and Niko will hop in a nearby muscle car. Niko's car is much faster, but Luca's car is more maneuverable. He'll lead you on a wild chase through the city, weaving in and out of oncoming traffic like he's got a death wish. Don't worry about trying to shoot at them, just follow them without crashing into too many things until they get to the park, where they'll crash.

At this point, they'll spread out in the park, but they're not going anywhere, so you can take your time. Use the sniper rifle to nail them at a distance without even putting yourself in danger. Luca will escape into the bathroom. Open the stall doors by shooting them until you find Luca, kill him, then grab the diamonds. Now you have to meet up with Ray at the bridge in the middle of the park to give him the diamonds, so run on over there for a peaceful handoff to end the mission.

Don't forget to grab this Body Armor off the desk once you reach the first floor of the museum.
If you don't want these black cars chasing you during your escape, take them out with a grenade or two.Museum Piece
Ray Boccino
The object of this mission is to oversee a diamond deal (Body Armor alert!) at the Libertonian museum. Of course it will go wrong, but when it does, your only objective is to escape the museum. You'll have to fight your way through a large crowd of enemies to the far side of the room you start in. There you'll find some stairs down to the first floor, and you'll have to fight your way back across that room as well. There's some Body Armor here on the desk by the stairs, so be sure to grab it if you've taken a few hits. Go through the double doors below the dinosaur's tail, but look out for a thug on the other side and to the left. Continue down the stairs, taking out enemies as you go, then exit through the service doors. Outside, you can toss a couple grenades at the three black vehicles protecting a group of enemies, or if you're feeling daring, just hop into one of the cars and try to lose the guys chasing you. They'll be shooting at you all the while, so you'll need to be pretty elusive to lose them.

NOTE: The enemies here drop the powerful Combat Pistol, so you may want to pick one up, swapping out your current pistol for it. This mission also unlocks Combat Pistols in the gun store

No Way on the Subway
Ray Boccino
Reward: $9500
Head over to the location marked on your map and you'll see two bikers hop on their bikes and ride away. Whatever vehicle you drove will disappear, but there will be a motorcycle for you to use. Hop on the bike and follow them. They will eventually ride into a subway tunnel. Follow them in and shoot one while you're in the tunnel. Eventually the surviving biker will ride over a raised railway bridge, and the end of the bridge will be blocked by subway cars. Follow them on the walkway to the left, and ride down the stairs at the end to meet up with him. Continue the street chase, trying to gun down the other biker. If you can't seem to hit them, don't worry: they'll eventually crash. Shoot them, and you'll complete the mission.

Completion of this mission unlocks the mission "Weekend at Florian's" as long as you have completed the mission "Hostile Negotiation."

Here is the location of Florian's place.Weekend at Florians's
Ray Boccino
This mission becomes available after you have completed the missions "Hostile Negotiation" and "No Way on the Subway." You'll get a call from Ray, telling you that he has information about Florian Cravic.

First off, head over and pick up Roman, then head over to Talbot. He has information about Cravic. When you get to Talbot, you'll need a four-door car. He'll get in, and Talbot will give you directions as you hit each intersection. You'll have to drive slowly or he'll get confused.

When you get to the location on Ivy Drive South, you'll see a scene that ends the mission and changes Niko's ultimate object of revenge.

Completion of this mission unlocks Bernie's missions.

Instead of barreling through the front door of the hotel, go into the alley around back and ride this window washer's lift to the roof.
This Body Armor regenerates if you go back down the stairs toward the window washer's lift; use it often!Late Checkout
Ray Boccino
Reward: $11000
It's finally time to wipe out the diamond dealers. You'll need to find a way into their penthouse suite. The direct way is to take the elevator up and shoot your way in. This isn't recommended because you'll have to shoot your way through a hallway filled with guards on the floor below the dealers'. Access to the roof is also hard, because the interior stairway goes up to the roof inside a glass structure, which is a bad tactical position.

The best way to do it is to go around to the back of the building, near the garbage cans. Drive, don't walk. There is a window washer's lift back there that will take you up to the top floor (NOTE: You must "arrive" at the location of the hotel first before the lift will appear). Park your vehicle next to it, pointing out of the alley, and ride the lift up. There will be four guys on the roof; if you shoot the red propane tank on the roof it will explode and kill the thugs, as well as produce a satisfying little cut scene. When they're dead, grab the Body Armor there; this Body Armor regenerates every time you go back down the stairs toward the window washer's lift, so grab it anytime you get shot up too much. Head downstairs now and take out the others. You can perform executions on the diamond dealers.

After you kill the last diamond dealer, more guards will enter and you'll get a two-star Wanted Level. There will be more guards on the roof you'll have to fight through to get back to the window washer's lift. Take it down and hop into your car (that's why you drove) and speed away to shake your Wanted Level.

Completion of this mission unlocks Phil Bell's missions.

Park your vehicle at this safe point on the hill to set up your attack position.
Scour the yard for the Ancelottis with your sniper rifle and pick them off one by one.Actions Speak Louder Than Words
Gerry McReary
Reward: $9000
Gerry wants you to plant a bomb in Tony Black's car, so head over to Inchon Avenue to pick up the bomb. Niko will give Gerry a call, after which you'll need to head over to Tony's car and plant the bomb in it. Park across the street at the marker, and have your car pointed downhill. Watch the cut scene. You'll then have to follow the car with the Ancelottis, but at a distance so you won't be spotted. After you watch the cut scene, drive to the marker and call Gerry to detonate the bomb.

After the explosion you'll have to take out any remaining Ancelottis. The semi-auto sniper rifle works well, but watch out for anyone who tries to charge at you. When they're dead, you'll have to shake a two-star Wanted Level, which should be second nature to you by now.

Completion of this mission unlocks the Random Characters Marnie, Eddie Low, and Ivan (if you didn't kill him earlier).

This straight stretch on Frankfort Avenue is a good place to catch up and open fire on Frankie.I Need Your Clothes, Your Boots, and Your Motorcycle
Gerry McReary
Reward: $9250
TRIVIA ALERT: The title of this mission is a reference to the movie Terminator 2.

Hop on the motorcycle (a PCJ 600) after the cut scene and head over to the marker in Algonquin. When you get there, you'll see the target, Frankie Garone, as he tries to get away on a motorcycle. Follow him as fast as you can. He travels fast, so try not to shoot at him every chance you get just because you can; more often than not it'll end in a crash. Usually the best place to open fire is on the straightaways like Frankfort Avenue. Frankie likes to zip through alleys, but don't think you can just stay on the main streets, because you'll probably lose him that way. When do finally hit him with enough bullets, he will fall off his bike and try to run on foot. Stay on your bike, chase him down and kill him.

Stay close to Bernie while he's jogging, but not too close.
The hater's escape route will lead you through a lot of obstacles; whatever you do, don't crash, or you'll lose him.Hating the Haters
Bernie Crane
Reward: $6000
Take Bernie to the park. When you get there, you'll have to follow him as he jogs. Don't get too close or the attacker will be scared away, but don't stay too far away either; about 30 feet is a good distance to keep. When Bernie goes through the tunnel beneath Quartz Street, he'll be attacked. The attacker will run up the nearby stairs, and onto a scooter. It's impossible to hit him until he gets on the scooter, so don't even try. If you're quick, chase the hater up the stairs with your assault rifle out as soon as the cut scene at the other side of the tunnel ends, then gun him down as he jumps on the Faggio scooter (just note that you have to be very fast to accomplish this). If you can't get him before he takes off, hop one of the other scooters and chase him down. He'll lead you on a very frustrating chase through the pedestrian-packed park, and he'll take a lot of bullets to kill. To make matters worse, your scooter will fling you off if you hit something at an even moderate speed, and that includes the aforementioned pedestrians. If you fail to shoot him after awhile, you'll circle back toward Bernie and have to pick him up on your scooter, then continue the chase on the city streets. After you've killed the hater, drive Bernie down to Perseus in southern Algonquin to end the mission

Union Drive
Bernie Crane
Reward: $6250
After you speak to Bernie, he'll ask you to get a car, and you'll want something fast. Perhaps through divine intervention, just down the street is an unlocked Turismo sports car. Hop in and drive to the location marked on the minimap. After you speak to the Russian blackmailers, they'll try to get away. Chase them, but be aware they have a very fast sports car.

The key to outlasting this chase is simply to stay on the blackmailers; don't worry about trying to shoot them. All it takes is one bad crash and just like that, you will lose them and fail the mission. Obviously, this is easier said than done since the majority of the cars in GTA IV have about as much weight as a Radio Flyer wagon, but somehow you'll just have to get lucky. If you want to try something a little daring, shoot the pumps at the Terroil Gas Station as the Russians drive through it to destroy their car, forcing them to get out and run on foot.

In any case, they will eventually crash. Ram them with your car, then shoot them to end the mission.

Smackdown
Derrick McReary
Reward: $6500

This low-speed pursuit will take you through backyards, through fences, and other nonconventional escape routes.
Be quick when you reach Bucky's house; the shooting will attract all the cops in the area, and they won't shoot at Bucky, they'll be shooting at you.Packie calls you with this mission. Meet Derrick in the park. He'll ask you to find a cop car. NOTE: There is a Flying Rat near the starting location; you can see it in the background of the cutscene, so note where it is if you want to kill it.

There are a pair of cop cars parked at the corner. Hop on the computer and search for Bucky Sligo. His hangout is listed as the Burger Shot in Alderney. Be sure you select "locate" so your GPS will take you to the Burger Shot. Head over there with the cop car and park at the marker. Be sure the car is facing out. Bucky will show up, then drive away. Chase him. He doesn't go fast, but he does go through backyards and alleys. Follow him until he gets to his house.

Once there, kill him and all the other guys in the house. You'll need to be very quick about this because all the shooting will attract the attention of any cops in the area. Since you're out in the open here they'll have clear shots at you, and even though Bucky's crew are the ones doing most of the shooting, the police aren't even remotely interested in them, opting instead to sic the whole force on you instead, so you're going to need a lot of luck to survive this mission. A better approach would be to sneak in through the back door of the house; in fact, this tactic will keep the police off you until you finish off the last couple thugs on the front porch, so it's highly recommended.

Once you've cleaned out the house, exit by the back door, and shake your Wanted Level.

Completion of this mission unlocks Stevie's Car Theft missions and a new safehouse in Alderney.

Shoot at the speedboats' engins to make them go boom.
Aim the RPG ahead of the helicopter so that the rocket connects with its target.Babysitting
Derrick McReary
Reward: $7000
Meet Derrick down at the docks and you'll board a speedboat. As Derrick fills you in on the situation, head north toward the location marked on your map, where Kim's boat is. Stay very close to the stern (back end) of the fishing boat. It moves just as fast as your speedboat, so it is difficult to keep up with. Soon you'll have to defend Kim's fishing boat from attackers on other speedboats. You can shoot at them, or ram them. Try to shoot at their boats' engines to make them explode. When your boat stops, stand up and use the rocket launcher to shoot down the helicopter, then destroy any remaining other boats (but be careful not to fire any rockets near Kim's boat!). Follow Kim the rest of the way to the destination point to complete the mission.

Completion of this mission unlocks the RPG.

Like the onscreen prompt says, park the truck across the two yellow arrows to block the tunnel.
Don't use the rocket launcher to take out the cops in the tunnel; the chances of hitting Packie with it are too high. Use the assault rifle instead.Tunnel of Death
Derrick McReary
Reward: $7500
Derrick wants you to kill a guy named O'Malley. Nothing new, right? This mission is harder than it sounds, though, because O'Malley is being held in police custody under heavy security. Packie will call you and tell you the plan: As the police convoy enters the Booth Tunnel, you're going to block the path with a truck and attack the convoy with a rocket launcher. Sounds like fun, right?

Go to the marker and hop into the truck. Drive the truck to the tunnel and block it by parking the truck between the two markers. The convoy will stop. Take out the cops that go to investigate your truck (watch out for Packie!), then take out the rest. Resist the urge to use your rocket launcher, as it's very easy to accidentally take out Packie and O'Malley with it. Just stick to your assault rifle to gun down all the cops. After the last one's dead, you'll be told to get in the armored car, so do so, and make sure to wait for Packie to get in.

Now you have to drive the out of the tunnel and lose your three-star Wanted Level, so go straight past the parked truck with the accellerator to the floor; this way you should be able to lose them pretty quickly. Drive to the marker on your map to switch the truck out for a new vehicle, then drive to your destination at the cliffs to kill O'Malley and complete the mission. Packie in all his unselfishness and kindness will drive off in the car, leaving you to huff it back to the city.

Use these boards to reach the window washer's lift.
Take out Derrick or Frank, whoever you hate more; it doesn't really have an effect on the story.Blood Brothers
Francis McReary
This mission becomes avialable after you clear the missions "Lure," "I Need Your Clothes, Your Boots, and Your Motorcycle," and "Tunnel of Death."

Frank will ask you to kill Derrick; some brother he is. When you get to the location, head over to the front of the building. There is a window cleaning lift on top of the scaffolding. Use the stacked boards to climb up to it. Use the lift to get to the top of the roof. Pull out your sniper rifle and shoot either Frank or Derrick.

If you kill Derrick, you will be able to call Frank for a one-time offer to get rid of a Wanted Level. Your choice affects whose funeral you will be attending in the upcoming mission, "Undertaker," but nothing else.

Completion of this mission unlocks Clarence as a Random Character (as long as you spared him in the "Holland Nights" mission).

Try to blow up the cars to kill all the thugs in them at once.
Ignore your pursuers while you're driving the hearse and focus on not crashing headlong into the myriad obstacles on the way to the cemetery.Undertaker
Packie
Packie and Kate will both call you and invite you to Frank or Derrick's funeral, depending on who you killed in the "Blood Brothers" mission. You must be wearing a suit, tie, and dress shoes to get in the church.

This being GTA, of course the funeral will get interrupted by a rival gang. Take out the first carload of thugs, and then two a second; both of these cars come from the left. Try to blow up the cars before the Albanians can get out. A third car will approach from the right, so gun that down, too. Finally, a few more enemies will approach from the alley in the middle.

When all the attackers are dead, hop into the hearse and drive the body to the cemetery. You'll be attacked by yet another car of Albanian thugs, and the back door to the hearse will fall off. Drive carefully, or the coffin will roll out the back and you'll fail the mission. Just ignore your pursuers and focus on not careening into a wall or something. The mission ends when you arrive at the cemetery -- with the McCreary body, of course.

I'll Take Her...
Gerry McReary
Reward: $9500
Gerry's in the Alderney State Correctional Facility, so you'll find him there if you follow his "GM" marker on your map. Talk to him, and he'll ask you to call Packie. Packie will tell you the plan. Head over to the nearest tw@ internet cafe and click on the AutoErotica.com ad. Click on "View Cars," then scroll down to the ad for a pink 2003 Feltzer. There you'll see the owner's number, which will be added to your cell phone; she's listed as "Mob Daughter." You can call her between 08:00 and 21:00. Do so, then go meet her at her house on Babbage Drive in Acter for a test drive.

When you test drive the car, she'll freak out if you have an accident, though you can just ignore her. Drive first toward the beach on the route laid out on your map, then head toward the safehouse once it appears, but be warned: Gracie will get suspicious and grab the wheel to make the kidnapping hard for you. Niko will eventually knock her unconscious, allowing you to drive her to the safehouse in peace. By completing this part of the mission you'll get the achievement "Gracefully Taken".

Sometime later Packie will call you and ask you to take a photo of her. Drive to the safehouse, indicated on your map with a stick figure, and take a picture with your phone.

Blast all the thugs while taking cover behind this low wall; just watch out for the guys rushing you!
Only crawl toward the front of the truck on straight stretches of road, or else you'll roll toward the edge.Truck Hustle
Phil Bell
Reward: $11000
Head over to the marker. When you get there, you'll see a truck, and a very large group of gang members. Time for a shootout! If you don't start shooting, they will after a little while. Take all of them out from your cover position behind the low wall, then run toward the truck. As you appraoch the truck it will start to drive away. You'll notice a yellow marker behind the truck's rear bumper. Run to that marker and Niko will jump on the back.

Now you have to make it from the back of the truck all the way up to the cab. Hammer on the A button to climb up to the roof, then press forward on the Left Analog Stick to crawl toward the front. Hold on during the turns by pressing back on the Left Analog Stick, and only move forward during the straightaways or else you'll roll off and have to climb back up again. When you get to the front, you'll take over the truck. Drive it to the old mansion just a short distance away and you'll complete the mission. There is a dirtbike nearby you can use to leave the area, if you feel like using it.

If you block the truck in, or overturn it, or otherwise stop it, the truck will explode. The only way to recover it is to get on the back.

Completion of this mission unlocks the Assassin side missions and missions for Jimmy Pegorino.

When this hitman appears, take him out, along with anyone with a red arrow over his head.
Be careful when gunning the last thug down; if you damage the money, you fail the mission!Pegorino's Pride
Jimmy Pegorino
Reward: $10500
Get in the car and drive to the location. If you don't already have a combat sniper rifle, you'll get one automatically. You've been tasked to watch over the meeting, and like all meetings in GTA IV, this one will we go bad. The entrance to the building is near the car, on the ground floor. Head inside and go up the stairs to the top level and stand at the marker. Watch over the meeting through the rifle scope.

Soon a hit man will appear behind Pegorino and bullets will start to fly. Take out the hitman, then quickly shoot anybody with a red arrow over their heads. Four more enemies will arrive in a car, so gun them down as well. When you get the prompt to protect Pegorino, run downstairs and sprint to his locations before his health expires. After the cut scene, hop into the car, and chase the vehicle that's getting away. When it crashes, hop out and kill the four guys that get out. There is a first-aid kit at the top of the stairs near the crashed car, if you need it. The fourth guy will run up the stairs and flee between various obstacles, so you'll have to chase him down. Be careful when shooting him, because you can destroy the money and fail the mission. When you've killed the last thug, grab the bag, then drive Pegorino home.

The alley across from the auto dealership is a good place to position yourself for the assault.Payback
Jimmy Pegorino
Drive to the diner. When you get there, make sure you have a good car, and that you park pointing north. When you see the Pavanos take off, follow them. They'll lead you on a chase through fences and down alleys, but resist the urge to shoot at them, because you want them to lead you to the rest of the Pavanos.

Eventually they'll crash into a car dealership. Take them out with a rocket launcher or other powerful weapon like grenades, using them to blow up the vehicles for a huge blast zone. Be warned though, all these pyrotechnics will draw the fuzz to the area, so get out of there quick. The mission is complete when you have dropped your Wanted Level.

Completion of this mission unlocks missions for the Gambetti family.

She's a Keeper
Gerry McReary
Reward: $9750
Gerry can't speak freely because prision officials are listening. He wants you to move Gracie (the mob boss's daughter) because people have found out where she is. Head over to the safehouse. When you get her in the car, you'll be attacked by the Ancelottis in their own vehicles, shooting at you. Speed away, and don't drive in a straight line whenever you can help it. Try not to damage your car too much, as it may kill Gracie (listen for the sounds of her muffled struggling to know if she's still alive back there in the trunk). Drive to the new location and you'll complete the mission.

Bouys Ahoy
Bernie
Reward: $6500
Hop in the boat. Head over to the marker and some of Dimitri's Russians in a boat will take a shot at you. Follow them, and keep chasing them. Their boat is more maneuverable, but yours is faster. Don't follow them into tight spaces, go around; even a small collision in your boat will flip it over. Shoot at them whenever you can to either kill all the passengers or flat out blow up the boat. Once you know which path they take, this will be much easier. Eventually, if you don't kill them, they'll crash their boat onto land and you'll have to hunt them down on foot. Be aware that this gunfight will attract police attention. Once you've killed the three Russians, return to the dock where Bernie is waiting.

Sometime later, Bernie will call to tell you that he's giving you his Infernus (an exotic sports car). Its location is shown on your map as "Bc." Picking up the car will clear the map marker but will not auto-save your game. Be sure to park it at one of your safehouses so you don't lose it!

Climb up onto this building from the trash bin in the alley Jefferson hides in for a good vantage point of the shootout.
Grab this first-aid kit in the same alley if your health gets low.Entourage
Gambettis
Reward: $12000
Head over to the location marked on your map, speak to the man marked with a blue arrow, then get in the car provided. Follow the convoy car in front of you and you'll soon drive into an ambush. Niko will get out of the car, so find cover and take out all the attackers. A good place to do this is from the roof of the building next to the alley Bobby runs into. There's also a first-aid kit in this same alley.

When the ambushers are all taken care of, hop in a car with Jefferson and drive away. You'll have four cars following you, and you must lose (or destroy) all of them. Just drive fast down a straight stretch of road, and make a few corners if necessary, and you'll lose them without much of a problem. Drive Jefferson to the safe location marked on the map to complete the mission.

Dining Out
Gambettis
Reward: $13250
Make sure you've got full health and Body Armor and lots of ammo before you head over to the restaurant. Before you go in, head around back and destroy any vehicles you find. Walk in the front door and speak to the host, shoot him (he's going to pull a gun on you later anyway so take him out before he has the chance), then get ready for some heavy retaliation. You have to fight your way through the restaurant, and upstairs, through some serious defenses, making sure to stay under cover at all times.

In one of the rooms upstairs you'll find the manager; he'll say that Kim is trying to escape out the back. Grab the Body Armor off the desk and track Kim down. Be careful: there are more guards between here and the kitchen. Head to the other side of the restaurant and you'll see Kim in the kitchen, but he'll run away again. There is a first-aid kit here on the floor if you need it. Kim went outside and jumped down the fire escape. Jump down after him. If you destroyed the vehicles, you can chase him on foot, but if you didn't he'll use one of the vehicles to get away. Hop on the motorcycle and go after him. He'll shoot at you as you're chasing him, but you can outrun him and outshoot him. If you're not comfortable on a bike, try stealing a car. Kill him and lose your Wanted Level, if you acquired one, to make the call to Mr. Gravelli and complete the mission.

Catch the Wave
Phil Bell
Reward: $7500
Hop in the car provided and drive over to the truck, then head over to the meeting point on Charge Island. Although the truck seems pointless, you'll have to arrive in it or you'll fail the mission. You'll then have to assault the boatyard and kill everyone there.

The problem is, Phil goes with you and has a nasty habit of charging into enemy fire. If he dies, you'll fail the mission. The key to keeping him alive is to take out to kill all the enemies up front except one. As soon as all the close enemies are dead Phil will move forward, but if one is alive he'll hold his position. This lets you take out the enemies in the back, so Phil doesn't charge in and kill himself.

Watch out for the explosive barrels inside the boatyard. For this reason, driving the truck into the building isn't recommended. Conversely, you can just shoot the barrels to take out any enemies near them. Watch out for enemies up on the catwalks as well, and don't miss the Body Armor by the cable spools on the left side.

When you get to the other side of the building, Phil will hop into a boat, so you should hop in the other one there. Phil will take off, so pull into position about four boat lengths behind him. You'll be attacked by two speedboats, so shoot the driver before he can harm Phil. Try to wedge yourself between Phil and the enemy boat. You don't have to stop both boats; they'll give up after you get far enough away. Pull up to the dock on the other side, get out, and walk into the marker to end the mission.

Liquidize the Assets
Gambettis
Reward: $14500
Your mission is to destroy the entire fleet of vans, and you can bet your bottom dollar they'll be well guarded, so make sure you've got Body Armor, full health, and max capacity of grenades and RPG ammo.

The area is guarded by a lot of enemies, including a sniper on the roof of the building overlooking the area on the northwest side. You can climb up the southeast side of this building, using the air ducts on the outside wall. To get to this wall, climb the fence just to the right of the main gate. On this roof, find the ladder that goes up to the adjacent roof. This is the highest roof in the area, and you can identify it by the water tower on top. You'll find more Body Armor here behind the doorway section if you need it. Sneak up behind the sniper and kill him to get this party started.

You can use your assault rifle, rocket launcher, or sniper rifle to rain death on the enemies below you, as well as the rooftop shooters. Watch for the three guys who climb up the stairs and attack you from behind. When all the guards are dead, start taking out the five vans with the RPG and grenades. Three are clearly visible in the garages in front of you, the fourth is in a garage just in front of those, but is slightly obscured by a wall. The final one is directly below your firing position. All show up as red dots on your minimap. Make sure all the guards are dead before you go after the vans, because if any are alive they'll attempt to drive off in the vans!

When the vans are destroyed and the mission is complete, you'll need to get down. The easiest way is to descend the ladder, then jump to the nearby street. Jumping down the air ducts is difficult.

Diamonds Are a Girl's Best Friend
Gerry McReary
Head over to Packie, who's waiting for you. Hop into his car and drive to the location on Charge Island.

The exchange (for once) goes well, but before you can pick up the diamonds, a third party arrives and takes them. You'll have to fight your way through the facility and get them back. Start out by taking cover behind your car and gunning down the first line of enemies, then follow Packie. You'll find some Body Armor on the ramp. There are more enemies up here on the walkways. Just after Packie suggests you split up, three cars of enemies will appear below and to your left. An RPG works wonders against them, as do some well-placed grenades. Head back to Packie when the vehicles are toast and help him mow down the next line of thugs, and check the side of the power box at a T-intersection for a first-aid kit. Continue fighting your way through the walkways until you get to the last guy. He'll drop the diamonds onto a truck, and they'll be lost forever (though you should listen the radio after the mission to hear the diamonds' ultimate fate). Head back to your car and take Packie home to Ma McReary's house complete the mission.

Three days after completion of this mission, Gracie Ancelotti becomes unlocked as a Random Character.

Flatline
Jimmy Pegorino
Reward: $13000
The hospital is within walking distance, buy you'll want a car out front so you can make a get away. If you enter with weapons drawn, you'll be attacked. Go inside and make a right. Inside the locker room are some scrubs you can change into. With these on you can walk right into Anthony's room at the end of the hall. Walk up to the machine next to his bed and hold the Left Shoulder Button to unplug it. Quickly walk away, and when a two-star Wanted Level goes up, run out of the hospital and into your waiting car. Lose the Wanted Level to end the mission.

Trespass
Phil Bell
Reward: $10500
You'll want an RPG for this mission, it make it much easier.

Hop in your car and head to the old factory near Port Tutor. You can enter though the door, or through the sewer. It doesn't make much of a difference; it only matters for the first two enemies, though the sewer gives you a better angle on them. The difficulty of this mission lies in the fact that you're going up ramps and stairs into rooms, which is a hard tactical position to take. There is some Body Armor on the second floor. On the third floor you'll get to what looks like a dead end. Jump out the window to continue forward. There is a first-aid kit on the roof. Cross the covered bridge to the other building, then head back over the second. Climb up the ladder and you'll end up on a roof with some smoke stacks. At the far end is another ladder, but before you go up, pull out your RPG. Climb up and you'll see a helicopter arrive. Shoot it down with your RPG. If you don't have an RPG, unload into it with your assault rifle. You can get down by climbing down the ladders to the bridges, then jumping down to the metal shed below them.

To Live and Die in Alderney
Phil Bell
Reward: $12000
You'll want an RPG for this mission.

Head over to the abandoned mansion and Phil will explain the situation to you en route. The drugs you're picking up have been placed in two cars, but when you try to pick them up, the feds will arrive. Follow Phil as the cops chase you. All you have to do is keep up with Phil, although you can help Frankie gun down the car directly on Phil's tail.

Eventually Phil will call you and tell you he's ditching the cars. He'll stop in an alley, and when you stop next to him you'll have to defend yourself against the police. Several cars will pull up, and the last one is a N.O.O.S.E. truck. Use the RPG or a grenade to take out the truck and it will set off a chain reaction that takes care of the cops as well. There are more cops at the other end of the alley, so take care of them in a similar fashion. When that's taken care of, follow Phil across the street to the van that's waiting. You may want to shoot down the helicopter with your RPG, as it will make your escape that much easier; there's one in the back of the van if you need it. You'll then have to lose your two-star Wanted Level, and the van certainly isn't the best getaway vehicle, but you don't have much choice in the matter now do you? Look for straight roads (the van doesn't turn well) or the local Pay 'n' Spray to lose the tail, then drive to the destination point to complete the mission.

Chapter 5
It's best that you save your game before starting this mission. You'll have some important decisions to make because the different endings of the game branch out at the start of this chapter. You may want a saved game you can go back to and play out the other endings.

Pest Control
Jimmy Pegorino
$14500
Jimmy tells you he's going to ask you to kill either Ray or Phil. He'll call you later and tell you to take out Ray. Drive to the marker and you'll see his car. If you're friends with Packie you can have him place a bomb in the car at this time, then detonate it with your phone.

In any case, Ray and his bodyguards will get into cars and drive away. They will go down the street, and make a left at the light. They will stop at a gas station at the end of the block. You can speed ahead of them and set up an ambush from the street to the west of the Terroil gas station. When they pull up, take them out. The RPG makes this easy. Ray is in the front car, and it's best to hit it before everyone gets out. You can also target the gas pumps to set both cars on fire. If you miss, or if Ray's car isn't destroyed, Ray will drive away toward the East Borough Bridge.

If Ray does manage to make it out of the gas station alive, speed ahead of him on the East Borough Bridge, park at the far right toll booth, then enter the booth to scare off the attendant. When Ray arrives in his convoy, the barrier won't raise, and Ray, being the law-abiding citizen that he is (what??), won't drive through it, but remain parked in front of it, giving you another chance to take him out. Remember that you must kill Ray and all his guards to successfully complete the mission!

That Special Someone
U.L. Paper
U.L. Paper will call telling you that Darko is in the country. Niko will call Roman, and he'll want to go along. Go to Firefly island and pick him up. Then head over to the airport. After watching the scene, you'll have a choice: you can kill Darko, or let him live. This decision does not change the missions available later in the game, but does change some of the dialogue. After you make your decision, drive Roman back to Brucie's place in BOABO to complete the mission.

One Last Thing
Jimmy Pegorino
Jimmy asks Niko to do a deal with Dimitri. Niko will talk to both Kate and Roman. Kate says not to do the deal, Roman says to do it. The choice is up to you, and you make this decision by going to either the deal location (the green dollar sign on your map) or the revenge location (red dagger).

Revenge Branch
To select this branch, head over to the Docks in Broker. This branch has harder missions than the other. If you select this revenge branch, Kate will be killed.

A Dish Served Cold
The road to the west is a great sniper position to take out the numerous guards on the boat deck. Go on to the boat and go to the front. On the top of the super structure is a good sniper spot for the remaining enemies on the deck, and there is some body armor here. The entrance to the bridge is on the front of the super structure on the back, below the giant "No Smoking" sign. Take out the guys on the first floor and head up the stairs. There are three guys held up in the hallway at the top. The second room on the right has body armor. Go outside on to the walkway, there are six more guys on the walkway around the corner. Take the stairs up to the bridge and activate the controls. There is some body armor on the bridge. You'll have to fight your way back down. Head over to the open cargo hatch. Try to take out as many enemies as you can before you jump down. When you do jump, aim for the pile of boards, it's tall enough that you won't take damage. There is a first aid kit in the southwest corner of the hold. When you get to the center of the hold, you'll see a scene. When you get control, you'll instantly be ambushed by several bad guys. Take cover and take them out. Then shoot Dimitri. You can now use the door at the rear of the hold to exit the boat. There are no more enemies.

Later Phil will call to tell you that the Pegorino family has fallen apart, and that he can't speak to you anymore. At 8:00 the next morning, Niko will call Kate and ask her to go with him to Roman's wedding. You'll have two hours to pick her up and get her to the wedding.

Out of Commission
At the wedding, Pegorino will kill Kate. The next day, you'll get a call from Jacob, asking you to meet him. When you get there, hop in his car, and follow the goons back to Pegorino. They'll end up going the wrong way on the freeway, but you can stay in the right hand lane until the freeway turns east. Follow them to the old casino at the northern end of Alderneny. There you'll have to fight a bunch of enemies out front. Back up a little, take cover against the wall and use your sniper rifle. Ahead and to your left is a retaining wall that makes excellent cover when you move up. Head into the casino. Inside the first room are some stairs to the left of the door; there is a first aid kit there.

When you head into the next room, you'll see Pegorino. He'll run up the stairs. There are two guys on the roof on the other side of the door. Climb down the ladder and take out the guys along the walkway. Pegorino will escape on a boat, but there is a dirtbike at the bottom of the stairs you can use to chase him. There isn't anything you can do to prevent this chase. If you blow up the boat with the RPG, it will respawn. You also can't hit Pegorino at this time.

You'll need to get on the bike quickly and start down the beach. You don't need to go that fast, so concentrate on not falling off. You'll come to a jump, with a yellow marker on it. You don't have to be going really fast, the most important thing is that you hit the jump.

You'll end up flying the helicopter. Chase down the boat and do your best to shoot it with the helicopter's miniguns. You'll have to keep moving and dodging because he has a rocket launcher he will shoot at you. You'll take at least one hit, but concentrate on just not crashing, and avoiding fire. When you reach the Island of Happiness, you'll see a scene and Niko will land the helicopter. Chase Pegorino on foot up the pier, and watch for the guy shooting at you. Pegorino will be waiting for at the base of the statue. Shoot him, and watch the final cut scene.

Deal Branch
To select this branch, head over to the green dollar sign in Alderney. If you select this branch, Roman will be killed.

If The Price Is Right
Pick up Phil east of the strip club. When you get there, he'll ask you to take him to Port Tutor.

At Port Tutor you'll find out that the deal has gone bad. You'll have to fight your way to the money, grab it and escape. (is it possible to just leave?) Follow Phil up the roof. Pull out your assault rifle, and follow him through the skylight. Here you'll have a gunfight through the building. When you're fighting, Phil will generally follow you. Take your time and fight your way to the far side of the warehouse. When you get to the office on the far side, the buyer will grab the money and run away. Follow him on foot. He'll run outside and hop into a delivery truck. Hop in the pick-up truck, wait for Phil, and chase him. He'll drive around the docks, and you'll have to deal with all sorts of objects in your way. Barrels will fall off the back of his truck. Focus on staying with him, but you don't have to be real close. When he gets on the highway you can catch up to him and pull up next to him. Phill will shoot the truck and it will stop. Get out, kill the driver and run up and grab the cash. The truck is on a timer of sorts; it will explode a minute or so after it stops.

When you have the money, head back to where you picked up Phil. Your share of the cash is $250,000.

Roman will call you at 10:07 the next day. You'll have to meet him at the church in Algonquin. After the wedding, an attempted hit on Niko will kill Roman. The next day you'll awake in your safe house in Bohan.

A Revenger's Tragedy
Little Jacob will call you and tell you to meet him. Go to his location in Alderney City and hop in his car. When you get there, hop in his car, and follow the goons back to Pegorino. They'll end up going the wrong way on the freeway, but you can stay in the right hand lane until the freeway turns east. Follow them to the old casino at the northern end of Alderneny.

When you head into the next room, you'll see Dimitri kill Pegorino. Dimitri will then run up the stairs. Follow him, and when you go through the door you'll see a couple of guys in front of you, and some more off to your right. Head to your right, up the slanted roof. When you get to the top you'll see a scene where Dimitri flies away in a helicopter, and Niko will end up next to a boat. Hop in the boat and follow the helicopter. Try to stay as close to the helicopter as possible. You'll see Jacob arrive with another helicopter. You have to go as fast as you can to the marker under this helicopter. When you hit this marker, you'll enter the helicopter. You must now follow Dimitri's helicopter. You don't have to shoot at him, and you can stay above the buildings. After a while, Jacob will hit the helicopter with gunfire, and you will take a rocket hit. Both helicopters will crash on Happiness Island. You'll then have to chase Dimitri on foot. Watch out for the cops here; you'll have a wanted level. You may want to run past or around them rather than fight them. Dimitri will run to the front of the statue (outside, not on the base). Catch up to him and shoot him.
